PTSD vs PTSI

At RLC we believe that there are many things in common between a physical injury and a mental and emotional one. We believe that when someone is confronted with challenging experiences and events, it is possible to end up a better person because they have experienced what we would prefer to call Post Traumatic Injury. PTSI is a normal human reaction to extreme circumstances. It may be harder to diagnose and treat, but it is still an injury that can be healed.

Our goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where clients can process trauma at their own pace, build emotional stability, and learn strategies to reduce anxiety, manage triggers, and improve overall functioning. and regain control of their lives. In fact, the goal is to regain and restore independent functioning.

Dr. Klerekoper has been a speaker, instructor, and counselor on PTSI for the past twenty-nine years. He has a unique approach born out of years of working directly with first responders.
